Dunhill Hotel Renovation Dunhill Hotel Renovation Featured in Charlotte Magazine

The Dunhill Hotel in Charlotte was recently featured in @charlottemag! Originally opened in 1929 as the Mayfair Manor Apartment Hotel, the Dunhill Hotel is a member of the Historic Hotel of America as part of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Summit Hospitality Group, Ltd., the hotel’s owners and operators, reached out to CJMW’s Interior Design studio to begin a phased refresh. We’re proud to be involved in this hotel’s new awakening and to continue our work with Summit Hospitality!

As one of the last unflagged properties in Charlotte and an historic landmark uptown, creating the right atmosphere was vital in this project. The re-visioning began with a transformation of the guestrooms. Staying true to the hotel’s existing gentleman’s club atmosphere, the rooms are elegant, crisp, and slightly formal with a palette of blues, whites and grays leavened by the addition of bright red touches. We also drew inspiration from the building’s architect, Louis Asbury, and the existing art collection on site to create a dramatic, but cozy, quality to the guest rooms. We are so appreciative to be included in this feature!
