approach
our clients come first
We start with the big picture.
We approach projects from a holistic viewpoint. We start by listening – an active listening tuned to what is both spoken and not spoken – paired with an engaged questioning to draw out your vision and ideas. We’ll talk about your long-range goals so we make sure our design supports those goals. We learn who you are and infuse that knowledge into every part of the design.
We respect project realities.
We treat schedules and budgets with respect, balancing the creative and the practical from start to finish. Our people-centered designs reflect and express each client’s culture while remaining firmly grounded in the economic structure of an established budget. Likewise, we understand that function is key – it doesn’t matter how beautiful a space is if it doesn’t support your operations or work the way you need it to work.
We focus on specific markets.
That means our designs are firmly grounded in experience and an in-depth understanding of that project type. That said, our understanding of operations in multiple project types means we bring innovative solutions from other industries to benefit your project and your long-term goals.
We are innovators.
Curiosity and the innovation and adaptation of new ideas and technologies is also an inherent part of the CJMW culture. Years ago, CJMW was one of the first local firms to adopt computer technology and draw in AUTOCAD. In 2004, the firm made its first foray into using BIM and we haven’t looked back since. We integrate new technologies into our process, always with the best interest of the client and the project in mind. Lately, we’ve been incorporating Virtual Reality into the design communication process – just another way to help clients really understand and experience the design as it progresses.
